$400M Contract Supports Construction and Infrastructure Projects at Morón Air Base

SPAIN — The U.S. Air Force has awarded seven companies positions on a multiple-award construction contract with a maximum value of $400 million supporting Morón Air Base in Spain.
The contract covers a broad range of design-build, sustainment, maintenance, repair, alteration, renovation, and minor construction projects throughout the installation. As a result, the contract provides the Air Force with a long-term vehicle to support future infrastructure requirements at one of its most important locations in southern Europe.
“Large installation support contracts like this rarely focus on a single project. Instead, they create a pipeline for future construction, renovation, maintenance, and infrastructure work across the base. These awards often generate opportunities for engineers, project managers, construction professionals, facility specialists, and skilled trades supporting long-term overseas operations.” — POC

The Air Force selected the companies through a competitive acquisition process that attracted 13 offers.
Morón Air Base sits near Seville in southern Spain and serves as a key logistics and operational hub supporting U.S., NATO, and regional military activities. Consequently, continued investment in facilities and infrastructure remains critical to sustaining long-term mission requirements.
Work will take place at Morón Air Base through June 2036. The Air Force obligated $35,000 in fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance funding at the time of award. The 496th Air Base Squadron at Morón Air Base serves as the contracting activity.
