TRAINING CONSULTANT – SkillsTech Australia (2002 – 2010)
SkillsTech Australia is the lead TAFE institute for training in automotive, building and construction, manufacturing and engineering, electrical/electronics and sustainable technologies throughout Queensland for over 14,000 students. Her role as a Training Consultant included:

Their “product” is defined as accredited courses, training packages and training support materials for these products. As a Product Program Officer, Veronica was able to contribute to evaluation of National Training Packages and State accredited courses, in alignment with operational policy, guidelines and State and National Training objectives. She was required to provide advice on the implementation of agreed national standards with specific reference to national training packages and accredited courses to ensure that packages meet the needs of Queensland industry. Her achievements in this role included:
Analysed training packages and other VET products to identify their impact on the Department and Queensland stakeholders
Contributed to the facilitation of input from Queensland stakeholders to the development and review of national training packages and other training products through liaison and negotiation with representatives of the Department of Education, and Training, national industry skills councils, state industry advisory bodies, licensing bodies, employer and employee associations, and representatives of public and private training providers
Prepared drafts for advice to the Minister, Deputy Director-General and other senior officers on Queensland’s position on the endorsement of national training packages

Joint Movement Control Offices are responsible for the movement of military and civilian personnel and equipment by all modes of transport, including air, rail, sea and road. As the Operations Sergeant of JMCO Darwin her duties included:
Responsibilities include:
Plan, coordinate and oversee complex transport operations
Plan, coordinate and implement the clearance of all freight and cargo within a mission area and manifest personnel and loads to modes for all locations in and beyond mission area
Coordinated movement of cargo and personnel for internal air operations ensuring priorities from management are kept.
Liaise with civilian companies regarding contracts ensuring regulations of major contracts are maintained
Day to day operation of the unit and management of staff and oversee all administration and discipline procedures
Resource allocation, Management and Forecasting for operational budget through monitoring expenditure and financial reporting
Future planning of unit activities and production and implementation of unit training and development
Command a Movements Detachment, responsible for its leadership and administration in areas such as correspondence, communications, IS and finances.

Awarded the Australian Defence Force Commendation for exemplary performance as the Operations Supervisor during the initial transition of foreign forces to East Timor.
A team leader of a dedicated team in operations under arduous conditions awarded an Australian Defence Force Organisational Commendation for the successful deployment of Force elements to East Timor
Lead a well-coordinated team of local staff to successfully supply bottled water throughout East Timor in time of conflict. The team operated smoothly and objectives were achieved to deadlines.
Efficient movement of troops and equipment for military exercises by use of timelines and defining responsibilities, allocation of resources and budget tracking for all parties was through effective project management. Supported by a team of 20 personnel, we were able to move a large volume of troops and equipment from point A to point B within timeline, resource and budgetary constraints and changing priorities
