Lead subject matter expert in support of Marine Corps Team Leader, Advanced Power and Energy Branch efforts: identify and support technological development areas of growth that support expeditionary energy strategy of Marine Corps; identify and support efforts to solicit new sponsors; support team leader’s programmatic and financial oversight; and lead the execution of behavioral energy operations demonstration (multi-phase and multi-year effort).

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor compliance of statements of work; coordinate, plan, research, and develop products to improve communication; generate new funding from existing and potential sponsors; and manage requirements and resources to execute on schedule and within budget.
  • Support and lead (in the absence of government representative) all operations in the planning and execution of the experimental phase of the USMC behavioral energy operations demonstration.

Accomplishments:

  • Wrote and submitted winning proposal for $1.7M in funding for the second phase of the behavioral energy operations demonstration (experimental) through rapid response to Department of the Navy.
  • Leading support role to customer for successful completion of first phase of $1.04M USMC behavioral energy study.
  • Saved customer over $298,000 in programmatic support to Energy Command and Control development, multi-year endeavor that leverages requirements, acquisition, and relationships with key stakeholders that will generate materiel and non-materiel requirements.
  • Saved customer $150,000 in programmatic support to Behavior and Energy Demonstration study, a joint funded effort, over $1M, that requires coordination with five supporting organizations. Currently developing a proposal for design of experiments for phase two funding.
  • Direct support to leadership that generated new funding from sponsors, over $1M Fiscal Year 2015 and $1.5M for Fiscal Year 2016.

Business unit that is responsible for improving the efficiency of existing and future equipment inventories; identifying and exploiting new technology to improve energy and water management; and development of training and education for energy and water management throughout the global organization. The staff of 10 coordinates throughout the USA and overseas to instill an energy ethos in order to rapidly increase its overall effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product development teams using JCIDS to advance innovative business solutions for the organization and its customers (Capability Development Document, Capability Production Document, Statement of Need, Operational and Organizational Statement)

Accomplishments:

  • Led product development of hybrid power generators and microgrids
  • Spearheaded over $1M investment in equipment training, survey collections, and demonstrations of renewable and energy efficient equipment in Morocco and Afghanistan
  • Impact: Executives invested $20M to rapidly procure first generation; rapid development resulted in expansion of employment; and second generation begins distribution during 2014
  • Supported $3.4M investment to develop energy efficient trucks and training for field user evaluations
  • Impact: Initiated paradigm shift of fuel and electrical power distribution
