Line, Base and Heavy Maintenance
Duties and Responsibilities
: Electrical & Instrument Components Workshop (Jan 2010-Nov 2013)
: Line and Base maintenance (Dec 2013- June 2020)
 Reading and interpreting aircraft maintenance documents AMM, IPC, CMM, EO, and SB.
 Checks /Inspections on aircraft above
 Embodiment of modifications.
 Excellent understanding of SBs, EOs and their execution.
 Troubleshooting and rectification of snags.
 Removal and installation of major components like Air Data systems, Air Data Computers,
Data link systems, Multi-Function Displays, Heads Up Display, Autopilot systems, Radio
and Navigation sets, Compass systems Transmitters and receivers, Gyroscopes, Instruments
and instrument systems.
 Adjustment of DME, ILS, Glide slope, VHF sets and Comms /Nav sets for compliance to
airworthiness standards as set in Maintenance Manuals.
 Embodiment of Avionics upgrades and modifications and the subsequent fabrication of wiring harness.
 Excellent knowledge on onboard safety equipment.
 Excellent execution of assigned jobs by strictly adhering to the regulations as per respective
manuals and laid down handling of removed components through a motto of safety first
through housekeeping.
 First line servicing including pre-flight, turn around and after flight checks.
Systems worked on:
1. Oxygen system – general ,supply and distribution
 Indication removal and installation of oxygen flow indication, oxygen low pressure
warning, contents gauges, low pressure switches, flow transmitters.
2. Pitot/ Static and standby static – general servicing, servicing of pipelines, drain valves,
pipeline drying.
Removal and installation of Pitot tube, piping, flexible hose, static vents.
Pitot Static SENSE and LEAK TEST.
3. General Instruments and Standby Flight Instruments and Independent Instruments system
 Removal and installation, servicing and functional testing, replacement and
calibration.
4. Crash Protection Circuit – Inertia switch.
5. Fuel System sensing and Indication – fuel contents transmitter calibration, Main tanks and
drop tanks indicators servicing and replacement.
6. Fire protection system – Fire extinguisher relay and Fire extinguisher bottles.
7. Flight Navigation System –Horizontal situation Indicator, compass magnetic, Navigation
system junction box servicing, fault diagnosis, removal and installation.
8. Attitude and Heading Reference System – Displacement Gyroscope assembly, Electronic
control amplifier, compass control unit, detector unit, synchronization meter, power
supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities
 Training and supervision of Certificate and Diploma apprentices.
 Teaching Avionics course including; Aviation Mathematics, Basic Electricity to include
complex DC and AC circuits, Analogue circuits, Digital fundamentals, Aircraft Electrical
trouble shooting skills, Wire and cable bundle build up and installation practices.
 Teaching Aircraft Communication and Navigations Systems, Installation and removal of
Aircraft Avionics LRU’s, Aircraft Schematic Diagram interpretation and utilization.
 Teaching Instrumentation, autopilot and identification systems.
 Teaching Soldering through hole and surface mount components to Printed circuit boards .
 Instruct, monitor, grade and evaluate individual students’ progress.
 Compiling and producing training notes, examinations and the delivery of required
instructional lessons.
 Compiling, checking and if necessary amending all trade syllabi at the end of each course.
