Experience

As an Army Special Forces soldier, I served on multiple “A” teams throughout my 20 year career (12 years active and 8 years in the Guard).  While on active duty, I was with 1st Special Forces Group.  I served two tours in Okinawa, Japan and two tours in Ft. Lewis, WA.  I served on no notice deployment team while in Okinawa which was also responsible for data collection of sensitive US facilities located in Southeast Asia.  I also served on several “Halo teams”.  After 9/11, I joined 19th Special Forces Group and completed 8 years with the Army National Guard.  While with 19th Group, I deployed to Afghanistan several times.  I also deployed to Mali, Senegal and the Philippines on JCET exercises.  Awards include the Bronze Star and Meritorios Service Medal.

I joined the US Border Patrol in 1997 which was the beginning of my career with Federal law enforcement.  After 5 years with Border Patrol, I accepted a position with ICE Removals.  While with ICE some of my accomplishments include setting up a model Intel program within our detention facility in South Texas.  AS a result, I was selected to help develop a training curriculum for HUMINT collection.  This course was taught at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.  I applied for a position in ICE Headquarters and was selected for a position within our removals division.  My primary function was to coordinate with foreign embassies on difficult removal cases.  Often times, some of these cases were sensitive national security cases which required coordination with multiple US agencies and foreign countries.  I also served as an acting Unit Chief in ICE headquarters overseeing the ICE removals Intelligence program.  I applied for an ICE Assistant Attache position located in South Africa.  I was selected for the position and served three years.  During this time fram, I traveled to multiple African countries to coordinate difficult removal cases.  Once again, multiple cases were national security cases.  I also coordinated many removals involving INTERPOL Red Notice cases, where subjects were wanted in overseas countries.  While serving as the Assistant Attache, I coordinated the first Biometrics collections program within an African country.  Awards include the DHS Silver Medal which is the second highest level award presented by the Secretary.  I also received two ICE Directors Awards which are also very dificult to be nominated for.
