Summary

I have nearly thirty years experience in the electrical field ranging from new build housing, domestic and commercial maintenance, industrial and commercial installation and several large airport projects. I have worked with some big companies like Fluor on Logcap IV, KBR on Logcap III and E.I.WHS on several airport projects and Hayden Young on Reading University. I can work within a large team or autonomously and have quite a vast range of the electrical field in general. I am always willing to learn new skills as an aid to my personal development.

Education

After completion of secondary education in 1985 gaining 5 GSE I work  for a couple of years in a DIY shop then I went back to college in 1988 to learn Electrical installation while working for an electrical firm and qualified as a electrician in 1992 City and Guilds in electrical installations parts 1 and 2. I took and obtained my 17th edition electrical level 3 certification in 2009

Apr 2012 – April 2016 Fluor. FGG, Bagram, Afghanistan

Journeyman Electrician:-

Hired as a member of the E.I.R.C Team ( Electrical inspection reporting cell ) to inspect the repairs carried out by the O & M Electrical Journeymen. The repairs are carried out to The National Electrical Code on the US systems 60 Hz and to the British Standards 17th Edition on the British systems 50 Hz. Carried out repair identified by the E.I.R.C Team to bring the installation up to code with the A.T.I Team. Carrying out distribution system inspections, facility maintenance inspections and technical inspections of living quarters and building on the camps. Maintain the short range look ahead plans and discuss all deviations with the General Foreman or Superintendent. Move materials and equipment to work locations and set up work site. Maintain, repair and replace or install a broad range of electrical equipment and support systems in support of base construction and maintenance activities. Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specifications and local electrical codes, using test equipment, such as voltmeter and ohmmeter. Interpreted company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations including wearing personal safety equipment.

Oct 2011 – Feb 2012: Integral UK Ltd, Hindhead, England

17th Edition J.I.B Electrician:-

New build on a retirement home. Reading and working to the on-site drawings and installation of trunking, tray work and conduit. First and second fixing of socket outlets, switches low voltage and remote controlled lighting circuits. Termination of electrical panels, P.I.R sensors and outdoor lighting circuits controlled of photo cells. Installation of door heating curtains, door entry systems and internal intercom systems. Installation and termination of fire alarm systems with connections to fire doors and fire wall shutters wired into the fire interphase panels.

Jul 2009 – Aug 2011: KBR Inc, Baghdad, Iraq

Journeyman Electrician:-

Assist the General Foreman or Superintendent by providing input to identify key success factors for Electrical crew. Carrying out Distribution system inspections, Facility Maintenance inspections and Technical inspections of living quarters and building on the camps. Provide leadership to cause the creation of organizational structure and processes required to fully execute the requirements of construction and maintenance services. Responsible for the execution of electrical services, quality assurance and subcontractor performance. Evaluate electrical service execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk and cost influence factors on ‘to go’ scope. Maintain the short range look ahead plans and discuss all deviations with the General Foreman or Superintendent. Move materials and equipment to work locations and set up work site. Maintain, repair and replace or install a broad range of electrical equipment and support systems in support of base construction and maintenance activities. Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specifications and local electrical codes, using test equipment such as voltmeter and ohmmeter. Install, test and fault find on HVAC split and window units. Connection of generators to transfer switches and MDP’s and installing or removal of bonding jumper into generator where required. Installation of 4 and 5 wire power systems. Studied production schedules and estimated worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Interpreted company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations including wearing personal safety equipment.
