Saudi F-15 training devices at three air bases
The Phase II program covers upgrades and sustainment at King Faisal Air Base, King Khalid Air Base and King Abdulaziz Air Base. In addition, the announced completion date sets a multiyear horizon for work across those locations.
Training devices form part of a broader aviation system
For context, Air Force program material describes the Saudi F-15 training system as including full-mission, egress-procedure and integrated-avionics trainers. The program combines cockpit and visual simulation equipment with systems that represent aircraft avionics.
Together, these devices provide a ground-based environment for aircrew training. Their continued operation makes equipment sustainment part of the support required around the Saudi F-15 fleet.
Full funding backs the contract modification
The U.S. Air Force committed $112,407,046 in foreign military funds to the modification. The effort supports foreign military sales to Saudi Arabia.
Before this action, the contract’s cumulative face value stood at $144,264,886. The additional funding therefore raises the total to $256,671,932.
Meanwhile, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, manages the contract. Modification P00029 applies to contract FA8621-17-C-6398.
