According to the Department of Defense (DoD), the contractor is being awarded a $56,909,952 contract for base operating support services at the Navy Support Facility, Diego Garcia.

The work to be performed provides for general management and administration services; command and staff; public safety; air operations; port operations; supply; morale, welfare and recreation support; galley; bachelor quarters; facilities support; utilities; base support vehicles and equipment; and environmental.

On February 5, 2017 KBR completed an exceptionally significant letter of technical direction (LOTD) from the US Government to organize a special meal on the eve of this year's Super Bowl, the annual championship game of the National Football League, for all US soldiers at three military camps in Poland supporting Operation Atlantic Resolve (OAR).

KBR's site leads and dining facility (DFAC) supervisors pulled out all the stops to ensure the soldiers had a terrific pre-game spread, including steak, chicken wings, burgers and hotdogs. Several soldiers commented they felt like they were back at home tailgating with their family and friends – which the KBR team considered the highest praise.

KBR has urged the D.C. Circuit not to revive False Claims Act allegations over a military supply contract, arguing in a Thursday brief that the alleged low staffing levels have nothing to do with the government paying the contract.

In Thursday’s brief, KBR Inc., KBR Services and Halliburton all argued that the lower court entirely played out allegations from former KBR employee Julie McBride about staffing levels at a U.S. Marine Corps facility in Iraq. The company said that McBride has not been able to substantiate her claims about the staffing levels at the base and her theory that staffing should have been based on usage rather than base population was rejected by the government.
