The U.S. Department of State awarded Constellis company Triple Canopy the Worldwide Protective Services III (WPS III) Baghdad protective services contract.

Constellis, a leading provider of essential risk management and mission support services to government and commercial clients worldwide, announced today that the Department of State (DOS) awarded the company’s Triple Canopy subsidiary a 10-year protective services contract in Baghdad, Iraq, under the WPS III Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, with a $1.3 billion contract value.

The Embassy compound in Beijing built-in 2008, is a safe, secure, and functional state-of-the-art facility.  The Beijing New Embassy Compound is the second largest overseas construction project in the history of the Department of State.  The multi-building complex is on a 10-acre (4-hectare) site, creating a secure and pleasant environment for approximately 950 employees. The NEC buildings represent the best in modern American architecture, while the landscape design borrows heavily from Chinese planning principles.

The State Department stated earlier this week that it was suspending operations at the US Embassy in Minsk, Belarus, and authorized departure for non-emergency employees and family members at the Embassy in Moscow due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Department of State has awarded B.L. Harbert International of Birmingham, Alabama, the design/build construction contract for the new U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi. Miller Hull Partnership of Seattle is the design architect. The new campus, managed by Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), will provide a secure, sustainable, and resilient platform for advancing the U.S. and Malawi's shared interests in democratic, accountable governance; fostering economic growth through the private sector; and supporting Malawi’s development primarily through health and education.

In an important symbol of our enduring friendship with the United Kingdom, U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Matthew W. Barzun and Director of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) Lydia Muniz broke ground on the new U.S. Embassy in London today.

The new Embassy, designed by KieranTimberlake of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will be situated on a 4.9-acre site in the Nine Elms Opportunity Planning Area and will include a chancery, a consular section, support spaces, a U.S. Marine residence, access pavilions, and parking.
