The United States' occupation of Iraq established what is known as consensual democracy based on the division of society into Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds, as was the case in the pre-state phase. The political circumstances in the country have not been this terrible since 1921. Everyone observed how a corrupt elite has turned Iraq into a sectarian state in which the true concept of state is absent.

Violent groups such as ISIS and the popular opposition forces are outlawed militias that do not adhere to any constitution. Although the popular forces enjoy the support of the government, the latter has framed and directed them toward the implementation of a sectarian agenda as the government's position is against the Sunnis. When talks about supporting the Sunnis began, the current government in Baghdad started to worry about its future.

Raymond Associates, a New York-based international firm, has been contracted to provide a broad spectrum of services to the National Salvation Government (NSG) of Tripoli, Libya.

Raymond Associates will provide consultancy services in regards to the establishment of national security architecture initially focused on border security and counter-terrorism efforts. Raymond Associates, working in conjunction with the NSG, will focus on counter-terrorism, illegal immigration, humanitarian aid, private sector development and governance support. The contract calls for Raymond Associates to provide guidance to the NSG as it strengthens and rebuilds local civil and governmental institutions for a free, prosperous and independent Libya.

Sources say, billions of dollars of U.S. equipment is being abandoned in Afghanistan while less then five percent of Kurdish fighters can afford helmets might be a “two birds with one stone” opportunity here.

According to Nolan Peterson of Blue Force Tracker, The U.S. military has two problems that one complementary solution can solve. 1. The Kurdish Peshmerga army is in desperate need of military equipment to fight back ISIS. 2. The U.S. military has so much excess equipment in Afghanistan that it is breaking down multi-million dollar airplanes and million dollar-plus armored personnel carriers into scrap metal.

President Obama on Wednesday opened the door to "limited" ground combat operations against the Islamic State, as he asked Congress to formally authorize military force against the terrorist network.

The president, in a proposed resolution and a letter to Congress, underscored the "grave threat" posed by ISIS. 

Netherlands legalized the choice of some members of No Surrender, a biker gang, to travel to Syria and Iraq and fight alongside Kurdish forces against the Islamic State. They are no longer the only European biker gang to enter the fray, as German group Median Empire also announces its presence in Kobani, Syria.

An extensive report highlighting the war against the Islamic State from the perspective of European biker gangs in Spanish newspaper ABC notes that Median Empire, a group named after a Mesopotamian civilization, has chosen to showcase those who leave the comfort of Europe to protect minorities in Iraq and Syria from the jihadist scourge.

Obama pledged that the war against ISIS won’t be fought with U.S. ground troops. He didn’t say anything about contractors, who see this as “the next big meal ticket.”

America’s rapidly-expanding war against ISIS won’t involve large numbers of U.S. troops on the ground, President Obama is promising. And it’s clear that airstrikes alone won’t beat back the extremist group. Which means that if the President wants to have any hope of meeting his far-reaching goal of destroying ISIS, he’s going to have to rely on private military contractors.

At least, that’s what the contractors are hoping.
