KBR Awarded Contract to Support Development of Iraq’s Majnoon Oil Field

IRAQ — Engineering and government services contractor KBR, Inc., has been awarded a significant contract to support development activities at the Majnoon Oil Field, one of the largest oil fields in the world. The project is being carried out in partnership with the Basra Oil Company, Iraq’s state-owned operator responsible for several major oil assets in southern Iraq.

Located roughly 60 kilometers from the city of Basra, the Majnoon field holds an estimated 38 billion barrels of recoverable oil, making it a key part of Iraq’s strategy to expand production and modernize its energy infrastructure.
