According to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Middle East District (TAM) has awarded URS / Megatech a $110,320,261.00 contract for the design and construction of single circuit 220-kilovolt transmission and distribution lines in Afghanistan.

The transmission lines will run from Gardez to Khost, the capitals of Paktiya and Khost provinces, in eastern Afghanistan. The project also includes the design and construction of new substations at Waza-Khvajeh and Khost. The substations will be configured to support local power distribution. The Design Build contractor will perform an assessment in Waza-Khvajeh to develop the design for 20kV distribution lines in the surrounding area.

According to the Department of Defense (DoD) — Michael Baker Global Services LLC, Alexandria, Virginia; Fluor Federal Services Inc., Greenville, South Carolina; Kellogg Brown & Root Services Inc., Arlington, Virginia; URS Group Inc., Washington, District of Columbia; and Weston Solutions Inc., West Chester, Pennsylvania, were awarded a $95,000,000 contract to renovate embassy secure spaces worldwide with an estimated completion date of July 23, 2020. Bids were solicited via the Internet with 13 received. Funding will be determined with each order. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha, Nebraska, is the contracting activity.

According to the Department of Defense (DoD) — Kay and Associates Inc., Buffalo Grove, Illinois, is being awarded a $41,193,675 contract to exercise an option for approximately 508,800 hours of F/A-18 contractor maintenance support services for the government of Kuwait under the Foreign Military Sales program.

Work will be performed in Kuwait, and is expected to be completed in July 2016. Foreign military sales funds in the amount of $41,193,675 are being obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
