Pernix / Kaseman (Joint Venture), McLean, Virginia, was awarded an $11,572,584 firm-fixed-price contract to construct a 4,600 square foot security facility communication center special area containing administrative offices. Work will be performed in the Republic of Korea with an estimated completion date of Sept. 3, 2016.

Fiscal 2015 other procurement funds in the amount of $11,572,584 are being obligated at the time of the award. Army Corps of Engineers, Far East District AP is the contracting activity.

According to the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations — The Department of State has selected Miller Hull of Seattle, Washington, as the design architect for the new U.S. Embassy in Niamey, Niger. Miller Hull Partnership will develop the concept design for the new facility.

The multi-building complex will be situated on a 10-acre site in the neighborhood of Yanta haut, and will include a chancery, a Marine Security Guard residence, a utility building, parking, community facilities, and street improvements. A design/build construction award to complete the design and build the facility is anticipated in fiscal year 2015.
