Contract Awards

Over the last 10 years, the Iraqi government has committed to purchasing several billion dollars worth of U.S. military equipment. Since the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from Iraq in December 2011, more than a dozen large U.S. defense firms have deployed personnel and equipment to support these programs.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has won a potential $156,370,264 contract modification from the U.S. Army for engineering services on the branch’s fleet of Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft. The Army awarded the modification on a cost-plus-fixed-fee, option-eligible, non-multi-year basis.
Work will occur at Poway, Calif. and the Army is allocating fiscal year 2013 other funding for the award. GA-ASI also holds a $354,683,431 contract to help sustain the Army’s Gray Eagles in Afghanistan under both operations and maintenance and other procurement funds.
