Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) announced it was awarded a prime contract by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to provide integrated logistics services, including procurement, shipping, warehousing, international travel support, and program support for worldwide Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) operations. The single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a three-year base period of performance, two one-year options and a total potential value of approximately $100 million, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed globally.

"SAIC's long-standing support to DTRA, its expertise in logistics, and DoD program support will enable us to assist DTRA worldwide in its CTR mission," said Mark Escobar, SAIC DoD Agencies and Commands Group senior vice president. "With our experienced and talented staff, we will continue to support this critical international mission."

NAT is one of the largest transportation contracts in Afghanistan and vital to the US bases throughout the country.

On Tuesday DOD awarded SENTAL a $9 million contract for integrated logistics support in Afghanistan:

Department of Defense (DoD)SENTEL Corporation, Alexandria, Va., was awarded a $9,609,809 cost-plus-fixed-fee, option-eligible, non-multi-year contract modification of contract (W52P1J-12-C-0077) for integrated logistics support and related services. Performance location will be in Afghanistan with incremental funding from fiscal 2013 Operations and Maintenance Army funds. This contract was a competitive acquisition via the web with five bids received. The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity.
