GDIT Secures $98M Extension for USAFCENT Communications Support

ASIA — General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, has secured a $98,000,000 contract modification to extend both the ordering period and ceiling value on its existing single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract (HC1028-15-D-0007).
“Sustained, secure communications are the lifeline of deployed operations. This extension reaffirms the critical role GDIT plays in keeping USAFCENT connected and mission-ready in some of the most challenging environments in the world.”
The award supports the acquisition, integration, installation, operations, and maintenance of communications systems for U.S. Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT), directly enabling deployed mission requirements across Southwest Asia.
The contract’s ordering period now runs through Sept. 8, 2026, and the lifecycle value increases to $814,000,000. Work will take place at USAFCENT locations throughout the region, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity and operational readiness for U.S. and coalition forces. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is the contracting activity.
Why It Matters
USAFCENT’s communications backbone supports a wide range of mission sets—from air operations coordination to intelligence sharing—across a vast and complex area of responsibility. GDIT’s role ensures these systems remain reliable, secure, and adaptable to evolving threats and operational demands.
