Department of Defense (DOD)Muscogee Nation Business Enterprise, Okmuglee, Okla., is being awarded an $8,218,006 firm-fixed-price contract for life support services to the Department of Defense Task Force for Business and Stability Operations. These services will provide basic necessities, complex security, and personnel security details for safe travel in the immediate region around the Western Area of Responsibility in Afghanistan. Work will be performed primarily in Herat, Afghanistan.  This contract was awarded as a sole-source acquisition.  The estimated completion date is July 31, 2014. Washington Headquarters Services, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (HQ0034-13-C-0101).

DynCorp International's, DynAviation Group awarded $86.6 Million Subcontract to Support Multi Sensor Aerial Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (MAISR) Program FALLS CHURCH, Va. – DynCorp International (DI) has been awarded a subcontract to provide contractor logistics support in Kandahar, Afghanistan, as part of the Multi Sensor Aerial Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (MAISR) Operations and Sustainment program. DI will serve as a subcontractor to AASKI Technology, with a program management office based in Huntsville, Ala.

CONTRACTOR SUPPORT OF U.S. OPERATIONS IN THE USCENTCOM AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY TO INCLUDE IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN

BACKGROUND:

This report updates DoD contractor personnel numbers in theater and outlines DoD efforts to improve management of contractors accompanying U.S. forces. It covers DoD contractor personnel deployed in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)); Iraq; and, the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) area of responsibility (AOR).

KEY POINTS:

In 4th quarter FY 2013, USCENTCOM reported approximately 111,500 contractor personnel working for the DoD in the USCENTCOM AOR. This total reflects a significant decrease from the previous quarter. The number of contractors in other USCENTCOM locations make up about 17.4% of the total contractor population in the USCENTCOM AOR. A breakdown of DoD contractor personnel is provided below:
