Exelis Inc., Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been awarded a $21,958,021 contract for Ground-based Electro-optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) Service Life Extension Project (SLEP) Phase II. Contractor will provide system service and upgrade for the GEODSS weapons systems.
Work will be performed at Socorro, New Mexico; Diego Garcia; and Maui, Hawaii, and is expected to be complete by Feb. 13, 2018. Fiscal year 2013 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $6,233,194 are being obligated at the time of award. Space and Missile Center, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, is the contracting activity.

According to the Department of Defense (DoD) — Exelis Systems Corporation, Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been awarded a $79,807,790 fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment contract, which contains firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursable and cost-plus-fixed-fee CLINs, to provide day-to-day base operation and maintenance services.
This contract provides for multifunctional requirements to include program management, postal services and communications, safety and occupational health/industrial hygiene and ambulance services, civil engineering, force support services, logistics support, U.S. Customs operations, reservation assistance office operations, local national payroll services, and transient alert operations.

Exelis Systems Corp., Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been awarded an estimated $6,536,121 requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit prices and cost reimbursable contract line numbers for material, appliances and above and beyond services for Family Housing maintenance services. The required maintenance services apply to all facilities, housing units and appurtenant housing support systems, such as garages, storage sheds, fences, grounds, landscaping, maintenance support buildings, utility lines, outdoor recreation areas and playgrounds. The contract supports military members and their families residing in government family housing facilities.

Exelis, Inc., Radar, Reconnaissance and Acoustic Systems, Van Nuys, California, has been awarded a $9,647,241 firm-fixed- price contract for a Ground Control Approach System (GCA). This effort is a new program in support of a FMS case for the Saudi Arabian National Guard. This action will provide a GCA for installation at a Khasham Al An Airbase. The GCA system will be utilized for aircraft approach and landing guidance, including airspace control services in support of air traffic control operations and Saudi Arabian National Guard aviation mission requirements.

McLean-based defense contractor Exelis on Tuesday said it had selected a name for the mission systems division it is spinning off into a new, independent and publicly traded company: Vectrus.
“While the brand will be new to the market, the experienced Vectrus team will continue to build on a legacy of delivering infrastructure asset management, logistics and supply chain management services, as well as information technology and network communication services, to U.S. government customers worldwide,” Dave Melcher, president and chief executive officer of Exelis, said in a statement.

Exelis has received a contract valued at more than $76 million to provide mobile ground control approach capabilities to the Polish Air Force, Navy and Land Forces. This program will bring the number of Exelis radars in Poland to 14 as the company continues to extend its leadership in the growing field of intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and analytics.

Department of Defense (DOD) — Announced solicitation designated for the air component of US Southern Command, provides base operations support (BOS) at forward operating locations (FOL) to permanently assigned Air Force personnel, equipment, facilities, and to deployed Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard aircraft, personnel and equipment conducting USSOUTHCOM, DoD, US State Department, and multi-counter drug agencies counter drug surveillance missions in the Caribbean and Central and South American theaters. The Forward Operating Location Base Operations Support services contract provides all management, personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services as necessary to perform tailored BOS at Hato International Air Port (IAP), Curacao and Reina Beatrix IAP, Aruba.

Exelis Systems Corp., Colorado Springs, Colo., was awarded a $463,192,596 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee, multi-year, option-filled contract for the Kuwait Base Operations and security support services. The cumulative total face value of this contract is $1,277,559,604. Work will be performed in Kuwait. Fiscal 2013 Procurement funds in the amount of $67,478,913 are being obligated on this award. The Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity.

The U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Command, Albany, Ga., has selected ITT Exelis as one of the prime contractors for the five-year, $854 million Marine Corps Logistics Support Services contracts program.
The selection gives Exelis the opportunity to submit proposals on multiple task order requests in support of future logistics requirements for the Marine Corps. The task order requests will be for the procurement of prime contractor support in program management and operations, specialized information technology, distribution and supply, maintenance and technical data development.

The U.S. Navy Facilities Engineering Command for Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia, based in Naples, Italy, has awarded ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) a contract worth $5.7 million for base operations support services at Deveselu Air Base near Caracal, Romania.
This is a combination firm-fixed-price with indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. It includes the base year plus two options that run through December 2015. The services include base operations and administration, fire and emergency services, supply services, housing and environmental operations.
