
According to the Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations — Skidmore Owings & Merrill of San Francisco, California was awarded a contract for the design of the new U.S. Consulate General in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
The multi-building complex will be situated on a 10-acre site in the Al Khobar neighborhood and will include a new office building, Consulate General’s residence, U.S. Marine Corps residence, support annex, utility building, parking structure, and community facilities. A construction award for the design-bid-build project is anticipated in fiscal year 2016.
