What are Private Military & Security Contractors and why are they so effective?

Private military contractors are private companies that provide the same services as a private military, but instead of being employed by a government or state, they work for private organizations. The private organization hires them to protect their employees and assets while providing security in high-risk areas. They can be hired by anyone from an individual to a corporation, non-governmental organization (NGO), or multinational company.
They have been around since ancient times when people would hire armies on an ad hoc basis to fight wars on their behalf without becoming involved themselves. In recent years there has been more demand for them due to increased terrorism and conflicts in unstable regions of the world such as Syria and Iraq where governments cannot afford large standing militaries anymore.
What is a private military contractor?
A private military contractor is a private company that provides services on behalf of public forces, such as security and combat support.
What are their duties?
They do the same work as soldiers but they also include other duties like protecting oil pipelines in war zones, guarding embassies, or training local troops. In many cases, they have been accused of doing more harm than good because they lack rules for engagement which means there has been an increase in civilian casualties from airstrikes by private companies.
This goes against international human rights law which prohibits civilians from being targeted unless it’s a part-time soldier who’s fighting for his own country rather than following orders from a corporation or government official — this usually applies to mercenaries hired directly by governments — not private military contractors.
The private companies benefit from patriotism and loyalty as they are responsible for large bonuses if their employees successfully complete a mission, this means they have been willing to fight with the risk of dying in order to obtain those lucrative job benefits. This has created an incentive system that encourages private soldiers to be more effective than traditional mercenaries who usually look out only for themselves — not necessarily the best interests of their country’s government or corporation that may be funding them.
Private military contractors offer several advantages:
They can help countries maintain smaller armies at lower costs because there is no need to train new recruits on how different weapons work since private companies already provide highly trained elite guards/soldiers so money saved on training cuts overall costs.
They can also help companies cut costs by not having to hire private armies and instead just paying a private military contractor for their services, which helps businesses avoid the extra cost of training new employees on company policies/standards.
