Andersen AFB Strengthens Pacific Operations with $7.9M Techni-Con Power Contract

GUAM — A company headquartered in Mangilao, Guam, has been awarded a $7,995,000 firm-fixed-price contract to repair and modernize underground power systems at Andersen Air Force Base.
"With tensions high in the Indo-Pacific, Andersen AFB remains one of the U.S. Air Force’s most critical hubs. This award underscores how local contractors like Techni-Con are essential to strengthening base infrastructure and maintaining mission readiness."
The project covers the replacement of underground electrical feeders, duct banks, switches, and transformers that support the base’s Munitions Storage Area (MSA). Upgrades are designed to improve reliability and resilience for critical operations in the Pacific.
Work will be carried out at Andersen AFB and is scheduled for completion by March 22, 2027. The award follows a competitive acquisition process, with nine offers received, highlighting strong regional contractor interest.
Funding for the project is drawn from Fiscal 2025 operations and maintenance appropriations, with the full $7.9 million obligated at the time of award. The contract is managed by the 36th Contracting Squadron, Andersen AFB, Guam (FA5240-24-D-0009 / FA5240-25-F-0112).
