DOD Awards Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. $21M for Support Services in Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is showing rapid development and growth of its economy, including areas in which Booz Allen Hamilton has significant expertise. Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. has been supporting the Royal Saudi Naval Forces for nearly 30 years and on Tuesday Department of Defense (DoD) awarded an additional $21M to a previously awarded contract:

Kay and Associates Inc. Contract Renewed for Maintenance Support Services in Kuwait

Kay and Associates Inc. Government Division specializes in the management of complex depot level aviation maintenance operations, operation of all levels of metrology laboratories, maintenance test flight, flight training, management and operation of customer owned ground support equipment/rolling fleet and direct maintenance support of daily flight operations. Department of Defense awarded $36M to a previously awarded contract on Monday. DoD annocement:

Department of Defense (DoD)Kay and Associates Inc., Buffalo Grove, Ill., is being awarded a $36,698,404 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to exercise an option for F/A-18 contractor maintenance support services for the government of Kuwait under the foreign military sales (FMS) Program.

Work will be performed in Kuwait and is expected to be completed in July 2014.

Sterling Global Awarded $10M for Mine Clearance in Iraq & Kurdistan Oil Explorations

Sterling Global Operations (SGO) has been engaged by the Iraqi government and several international oil companies to find and remove landmines and other explosive remnants of war from throughout Iraq's Kurdistan region to ensure the area is safe for oil exploration and agricultural and commercial development.

The projects are an example of SGO's expansion of its operations into support of the international oil and gas industry. In Kurdistan, SGO is carrying out surveys; risk assessment; demining; battle area clearance and removal of explosive remnants of war (ERW).

"This is an area of Iraq that has excellent potential for energy and agricultural development," said Andy Gleeson, SGO Iraq Mine Action project manager. "It's territory that has obviously seen extensive fighting over a long period of time. That means it's dangerous to drill without knowing there aren't explosives in the way.

"Also, you can't build new homes, roads, or schools in a place possibly contaminated with landmines and other unexploded ordnance."
