Air Force Extends Lockheed Martin Comm Support Contract in Afghanistan through 2014

Lockheed Martin has received a $138,476,929 contract modification/extension from the Defense Information Systems Agency to continue providing technical support services to the U.S. Air Force‘s central command. DISA awarded the additional funds as a sole source bridge contract modification, the Defense Department said The Communications Technical Support Services II contract’s ceiling increases from $524,841,921 to $663,318,850 and the performance period extends to Dec. 20, 2014, a June 3 FedBizOpps notice says.

Lockheed will help operate and maintain base networks, commercial satellite, tech control, telephone, land mobile radio and inside and outside cable plant installations for Air Force facilities and locations in Afghanistan and six other countries in Southwest Asia.

ITT ExelisThe U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Command, Albany, Ga., has selected ITT Exelis as one of the prime contractors for the five-year, $854 million Marine Corps Logistics Support Services contracts program.

The selection gives Exelis the opportunity to submit proposals on multiple task order requests in support of future logistics requirements for the Marine Corps. The task order requests will be for the procurement of prime contractor support in program management and operations, specialized information technology, distribution and supply, maintenance and technical data development.

This contract provides life support services for the Department of State (DOS) Embassy and Consulates staff and other U.S. agencies personnel located in the country of Iraq. Life support services include food procurement, preparation and serving; fuel procurement and delivery; postal support services; solid waste management; property acrap, destruction and disposals; recreation support services; airfield and structural fire protection; warehouse operations support; airfield management and operations support; transportation services; RSO supplemental staffing support for vetting, badging and security systems maintenance, and program management.  The DOS intends to issue task orders for the following DOS sites: Embassy Compound in Baghdad including Olympia and Embassy Heliport; Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center, and Basrah.
