The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded DynCorp International (DI) a contract to provide logistics support for the agency's equipment in Afghanistan.

DI team members will provide support services including leasing designated maintenance equipment and maintaining both leased and government equipment to support DLA Disposition Services activities at seven sites in Afghanistan.

The competitively-awarded, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has one base year with two, one-year options and a total contract value of $11.2 million if all options are exercised.

U.S. Transportation Command Awards 3 Logistical Contracts in Afghanistan According to the Department of Defense, U.S. Transportation Command out of Scott AFB awarded three air transport contracts for movement of personnel, equipment, tools and material in Afghanistan:

Department of Defense - DoDAAR Airlift Group Inc., Palm Bay, Fla., is being awarded a $97,946,397 option year modification (0001/0002) on an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for fixed wing aircraft, personnel, equipment, tools, material, maintenance and supervision necessary to perform passenger and cargo air transportation services. The total cumulative face value of the contract is $307,603,230. This modification adds the third option of the basic contract with four option periods. Work will be performed in Afghanistan, and the option will start June 1, 2013, to be completed by May 31, 2014.

KBR, Inc. and CH2M Hill have won a $17.9 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to operate and maintain an undisclosed number of power plants in Qatar.

The one-year task order has two option years and was awarded through the Air Force Contract Augmentation program, KBR said Today.

The scope of work includes provision of all transportation, management, labor and selected equipment as necessary to provide electrical power production and distribution to various base facilities on Al Udeid Air Base and the airfield lighting system, as well as training of Air Force personnel on the aircraft arresting systems installed on the airfield.
