According to the Department of Defense, U.S. Transportation Command out of Scott AFB awarded three air transport contracts for movement of personnel, equipment, tools and material in Afghanistan:

AAR Airlift Group Inc., Palm Bay, Fla., is being awarded a $97,946,397 option year modification (0001/0002) on an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for fixed wing aircraft, personnel, equipment, tools, material, maintenance and supervision necessary to perform passenger and cargo air transportation services. The total cumulative face value of the contract is $307,603,230. This modification adds the third option of the basic contract with four option periods. Work will be performed in Afghanistan, and the option will start June 1, 2013, to be completed by May 31, 2014.

URS Corporation has won a position on a potential $585 million contract to design and build healthcare facilities for the U.S. Army in domestic and overseas locations.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract contains one base year and four option years, URS said Tuesday. Under the Medical Repair and Renewal Program, the company will compete for task orders to help install and maintain equipment and systems at the medical centers.

“This contract expands upon the relationship that URS has established with the military in performing medical facilities design and build, starting with the renovation of the Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center following Hurricane Katrina and, recently, the design-build of a new medical education training complex at Fort Sam Houston in Texas,” said Gary Jandegian, president of URS’ infrastructure and environment business.
