Diagnose, troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions in Unmanned Aircraft Systems electrical, avionics, radio frequency, propulsion, fuel, optical payload, and weapon systems components including solid state and transistorized subsystems according to pertinent technical manuals, directives and safety procedures. Remove and install unmanned aircraft system subassemblies. Perform inspections and periodic maintenance on the aircraft, ground control station (UGCS, GCS), ground data terminal, takeoff and landing systems, and associated ground support equipment. Performs aircraft fueling. Serve as crewmember performing launch and recovery operations.
Act as a crew chief for flight operations. Validate maintenance records and operation of equipment to be used for flight ops, partake in mission briefings, monitor weather conditions, manage ground crew, ensure ground crew safety, and recover aircraft.
