Experience
Expat Resident Cameroon/Chad Africa, Humanitarian Mission, May 1995 – Feb 2000
• Traveled extensively in Cameroon and Chad. Residing permanently in Yaounde (6 months), Maroua (6 months), Kousseri (3 years), Makary (6 months) Cameroon, and N’djamena Chad (6 months). Primarily assisted remote villages with basic medical treatment focusing on infections and malarial treatment. Parents lived in Cameroon for 20 years as missionaries assisting villagers with medical treatment and religious services. They were eventually forced out by the Boka Haram.
• Developed a habitual and friendly relationship with Cameroonian Military. Resulted in multiple ride-alongs that included providing security on train from Yaounde to Ngoundere, patrols of highway bandits AO between Maroua and Kousseri, and local patrols in various villages in the Extreme North province.
• Routinely interacted with Chadian military and police that included spending several days as their guest in Abeche, Chad while visiting the Sudan border. Developed a respect for the challenges they face and the resiliency with which they faced it.
• Currently maintain friendships and business relationships developed in Cameroon. Active in the Cameroonian expat community in the U.S. assisting new residents establish roots in their adopted home.
Commando Operations (S3) Raytheon Co. Afghanistan Jan 2015 – Present
Embedded with a U.S. Special Forces team, I train and advise a Afghan Special Operations Kandak (SOK) S3 Officer and staff. Training is conducted during ongoing operations against insurgents. As a national level QRF battalion, I advise the operations staff on how to plan and battle track operations across the country. In order to develop an effective operations staff I conduct training and assistance on CONOPs, AMRs, MDMP, battle tracking, map reading, utilization of ISR assets, current operations, future operations and integration of intelligence. I implement programs and procedures for developing optimal effectiveness of mission planning. As part of my job, I also advise the Battalion Training Officer. In order to maintain core competencies and effectively advise, I keep abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. My goal for the organization is to develop a highly competent operations staff, that effectively plans operations and enables Afghan Commandos to succeed on the battlefield. While working towards this goal, I strive to identify developmental needs of my personnel and prepare them for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments.
Commando Trainer Raytheon C0. Afghanistan Jun 2014 – Jan 2015
Conducted training and mission preparation for a Afghan National Army Special Operations Command, Mobile Strike Company. Trained several echelons within the company; crew, section, platoon and company maneuver, maintenance management, and training management. In order to achieve training objectives, I developed and presented classes, established tests, visual aids, coordinated and controlled practical exercises, and developed train the trainer courses. End state was a Mobile Strike Force Company that was capable of delivering dismounted Afghan Special Forces rapidly and safely to the objective, provide accurate and effective direct fire support, and able to conduct complex missions in an ever changing and hostile environment.

Redesign course material and training plans for new personnel and develop course for mid-level leaders to facilitate continuity and refined understanding of the mission. Coordinate and validate in-house and outside organization instructors. Review scope of long range planning and develop recommended changes to increase efficiency and ability to anticipate projects 50% further out.
Company Commander US Army Jun 2012 – Nov 2013
Directly supervised 108 personnel as an opposition element, replicating many of the nation’s enemies to include, Afghan Insurgents, Guerrilla Forces, and Conventional Forces in one of the Army’s most austere and demanding assignments.
• Developed a keen understanding and ability to maneuver Mechanized Infantry during Force on Force in 12 National Training Center rotations as the US Army returned to training for conventional warfare.
• Developed training plan for Lieutenants and SFCs on synchronization and employment of assets in a combined arms fight to include, ISR, Intel, Indirect Fires, APCs with Direct Fire capabilities, Infantry Dismounts, Scouts, and Engineer assets.
• Commended for maintaining 100% accountability of $30 million worth of equipment with $0 lost.
• Lowered subordinate’s Inspector General Complaints from an average of 2 per month to zero.
• Increased personnel readiness from the worst, 7 of 7, companies at 72% to 83% as the best company, by addressing a variety of underlying issues
Captains Career Course Student US Army Oct 2011 – May 2012
The Maneuver Captains Career Course provided 6 months of intensive professional education for Captains in order to prepare for company command and to serve as battalion and brigade level staff officer.
Operational Assessment Team US Army Afghanistan Sep 2010 – Sep 2011
Combat Advisor, serving as the Operations Officer and second in command of an 18 man assessment team. Evaluated the capacity of a fledgling organization on the tactical and operational levels. Conducted regular analysis of the Afghan Army’s systems, structures, functions, and processes.
• Provided recommendations to repair systematic deficiencies in reporting and operational planning in Afghan units from Battalion to Brigade levels. Mentored Battalion staff during real world missions fighting the Taliban.
• Planned, coordinated, and conducted transportation of teams through 7 international armies in 10 locations across Afghanistan.
• Assessed and evaluated 5 different organization’s staff within the Ministry of Defense and Interior in 12 locations, from police operations centers, Infantry Battalions, BDE Operations, to border customs.
Operations Planning Officer US Army Jun 2009 – Aug 2010
Orchestrated all construction projects within the Brigade. Oversaw all aspects of 12 Battalion motor pools, tracking the movement of all equipment and regular maintenance on 300 vehicles.
