Summary

Experienced mechanical technician (Machinist), with Higher National Diploma in mechanical engineering and over 3 years of experience in machining, process improvement, analysis, implementation of new methods of machining, repair and time management.
- Have been able to develop one best method of machining that brought machining time down by 65% from 750 minutes to 250 minutes,
- Developed a easier way to machines spiral groove for oil injection that used to be ignored and have had great impact on tool use.
- Encouraged my colleagues on the use of high speed spindle which have greatly brought down machining processes and have had a great impact on product quality in terms of surface finish leading to reduction in use of grinding process.
- Have been privileged to manage and supervise a team of 15 attachment students in the maintenance and production departments.

September 2013 to Date : Ministry of State for Defence, Kenya Ordnance
Operations performed are;
Production Machine operator, Press machine operator and Lathe Operator.
Designing and conducting tests;
Thread cutting on components
CNC EDM-Sink operator (Programming, editing and operating)
CNC Machining operation and programming.
Milling, hand tapping and gear cutting (Conversant with Bridge-port type mill).
Reading of design specifications and technical drawings
Grinding work: Grinding of flat surface, cylindrical grinding..
Testing and verification of production tools to ensure they conform to standards required.
First line maintenance of machines and repair and testing of hydraulic equipment.
Being at Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation have been of great beneficial to nourishing my skills, I found myself being at forefront proposing ways to reduce machining process time. I encouraged my fellow technicians to embrace maximum spindle speed machining, developed short and easy methods of machining which have greatly bring down tool and job shop process time, which has become an efficient way to meeting targets, time and customers’ demand. I have been too involved in training of interns and post attachment students at our job shop.
