According to the Department of Defense (DoD) — Vectrus Systems Corp., Colorado Springs, Colorado, was awarded a $160,219,917 for operations and maintenance support to communications equipment and information systems, Army Network Enterprise Technology Command, 160th Signal Brigade and subordinate units, Southwest Asia Theater.

Work will be performed in Kuwait, Qatar, Afghanistan, Iraq, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Jordan with an estimated completion date of May 31, 2016. Fiscal 2015 operations and maintenance (Army) funds in the amount of $160,219,917 were obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, is the contracting activity.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. government is preparing to boost the number of private contractors in Iraq as part of President Barack Obama's growing effort to beat back Islamic State militants threatening the Baghdad government, a senior U.S. official said.

How many contractors will deploy to Iraq - beyond the roughly 1,800 now working there for the U.S. State Department - will depend in part, the official said, on how widely dispersed U.S. troops advising Iraqi security forces are, and how far they are from U.S. diplomatic facilities.

Over the last 10 years, the Iraqi government has committed to purchasing several billion dollars’ worth of U.S. military equipment. Since the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from Iraq in December 2011, more than a dozen large U.S. defense firms have deployed personnel and equipment to support these programs.

According to the Department of Defense (DoD) — SOS International, Reston, Virginia, was awarded a $36,000,000 to contract W56KGZ-15-C-4000 for base life support at Camp Taji, Iraq, with an estimated completion date of June 30, 2015.
