$147.5M Submarine Mast Contract Sends Majority of Work to Italy

ITALY — A $20.2 million Navy contract has been awarded for the production, engineering, and technical support of submarine universal modular masts for new-construction submarines. The award includes options that could increase the total contract value to $147,498,082.

Most of the work will be performed in Bologna, Italy, which accounts for 78% of contract performance, with the rest split between Northampton, Massachusetts, and Millersville, Maryland. Work is expected to continue through April 2031, giving the program long-term overseas relevance if all options are exercised.
